Emory & Henry Women’s Golf Fourth After 18 Holes At The Scotch Invitational Monday

LAURINBURG, N.C. – The Emory & Henry College Women's Golf Team sits in fourth place six strokes out of the lead following Monday's round at The Scotch Invitational, hosted by St. Andrews University. The Wasps carded a 338 (+50) on the day for the second-best team round in program history.

Emory & Henry
Sophomore Lexi Humbert (Greeneville, Tenn.) is tied for fourth overall two shots out of the lead after turning in a +7 (79) on Monday while freshman Katie Hall (Abingdon, Va.) sits in 14th place with her score of 84 (+12).

Sisters junior Emily Smelcer (Walland, Tenn.) and freshman Hannah Smelcer (Walland, Tenn.) are one shot apart, tied for 17th and 19th, respectively with scores of +15 (87) and +16 (88) while junior McKenna Quillen (Abingdon, Va.) shot a +21 (93) which was good for 26th.

The Leaders
Southern Virginia University leads the team competition with a score of 332 (+44) with three players in the top 10. The Knights lead Methodist University's "B Team" by one shot and MU's "C Team" by two.

Spartanburg Methodist College's Joy Outhous is the clubhouse leader, carding a +5 (77) on Monday. She is one shot clear of Jenna Rutledge and Alexandra Fox, both of Methodist.
