Emory & Henry Women’s Golf Places Sixth At Agnes McAmis Memorial Tuesday

GREENEVILLE, Tenn. – The Emory & Henry College Women's Golf Team set a new school record for the best one-day score and best 36-hole tournament score Tuesday at Tusculum University's Agnes McAmis Memorial. The Wasps also saw three players finish in the top 20 of the tournament as they took sixth overall.

The Wasps' second-round team score of 323 was the best in program history by two shots while their 655 (332-323) two-day performance beat the previous record by 11 strokes.

Emory & Henry
Freshman Katie Hall (Abingdon, Va.) notched a 78 (+7) in Tuesday's round to finish tied for 11th at +17 while junior Emily Smelcer (Walland, Tenn.) posted an 82 (+11) to complete the tournament at T-18th (+20).

Sophomore Lexi Humbert (Greeneville, Tenn.) tied the school record for an individual round as she posted a 74 (+3), leaping 15 places up the leaderboard to finish tied for 20th at +21.

Sophomore Briah Frisbee (Leicester, N.C.) shot a 96 (+25) on Tuesday while junior McKenna Quillen (Abingdon, Va.) added an 89 (+18) to complete the tournament at T-37th and 41st, respectively.

The Winners
King (Tenn.) University's Lisa Wahlqvist shot a 77-73 – 150 (+8) to win the tournament, unseating day-one leader Nilubol Panno from Tusculum who finished two shots back at +10 (74-78 –152).

Christian Brothers University won the team title by two shots over the host Pioneers, carding a two-day score of +59 (317-310 – 627).

Up Next
Emory & Henry will next compete at The Cateechee Cup, hosted by Emmanuel (Ga.) at Cateechee Golf Club in Hartwell, Georgia. The tournament will be contested over Monday, April 3 and Tuesday, April 4.
