Emory & Henry Women’s Golf Places Fourth At King Invitational Tuesday

BRISTOL, Tenn. – The Emory & Henry College Women's Golf Team put together yet another strong showing on Tuesday, finishing fourth out of 10 teams at the King University Invitational. The Wasps posted their second-best 36-hole score in school history, a +63 (631) over the two-day event.

Emory & Henry
Freshman Abby Bradley (Castlewood, Va.) carded a +6 (77) for the second day in a row on her way to a T-7th-place finish at +12 (77-77 – 154) while sophomore Katie Hall (Abingdon, Va.) shot a 78 (+7) to finish the tournament in a five-way tie for 14th at +16.

Senior Emily Smelcer (Walland, Tenn.) leapt seven spots with her round of 77 (+6), to put herself in a tie for 19th at +17 (82-77 – 159) as junior Briah Frisbee (Leicester, N.C.) shot 81 for the second straight round to finish the tournament at +20 (162), tied for 25th.

Junior Lexi Humbert (Greeneville, Tenn.) posted an 84 (+13) during Tuesday's round, finishing the event at +22 (80-84 – 164).

The Winners
Converse University kept the wire-to-wire lead, shooting a 313 on Tuesday to finish the tournament at +53 (308-313 – 621). North Greenville University was the team runner-up just two shots back at +55 (316-307 – 623).

Individually, Reagan Padilla claimed medalist honors, finishing the tournament at +6 (73-75 – 148). King's Julianna Go, North Greeneville's Nicole Kramer and Young Harris College's Lucy Wiegert tied for the runner-up spot at +8 (150).

Up Next
Emory & Henry will be back in action next Monday and Tuesday at Catawba College's Patsy Rendleman Invitational. The tournament will be played at the Country Club of Salisbury.
