Emory & Henry Women’s Golf Finishes Ninth At Patsy Rendleman Invitational Tuesday

SALISBURY, N.C. – The Emory & Henry College Women's Golf Team posted a ninth-place finish at the Patsy Rendleman Invitational on Tuesday. The Country Club of Salisbury and Catawba College served as the hosts of the event which will also be the site of the 2024 South Atlantic Conference Championships.

The Wasps' score of 984 (+132) obliterated the previous 54-hole program best. All five competitors for E&H placed themselves in the top five in program for a three-round score. It was just the third, three-round event for Emory & Henry in program history and the first since the spring of 2019.

Round Three
Freshman Abby Bradley (Castlewood, Va.) shot an 83 (+12) on Tuesday to finish the tournament in 33rd place at +30 while sophomore Katie Hall (Abingdon, Va.) also had an 83 to take 34th (+31).

Junior Lexi Humbert (Greeneville, Tenn.) finished 35th overall, carding an 83 in the final round for a total of +32 as junior Briah Frisbee (Leicester, N.C.) ended the event tied for 38th at +39 with an 86 (+15).

Senior Emily Smelcer (Walland, Tenn.) shot an 88 (+17) on Tuesday to finish tied for 45th overall at +45.

The Winners
University of South Carolina Beaufort's Ashleigh Meade held onto her lead, shooting a +5 (76) to finish at +5 for the event. Aly Francis of Anderson (S.C.) University finished as the runner-up at +8 (76-73-72 – 221).

Anderson won the team championship, putting five players in the top 10 and ties with a score of +47 (302-302-295 – 899). Lenoir-Rhyne University was the second-placed team, 11 shots off the lead at +22 (307-296-306 – 909).

Emory & Henry will host the Buzz-Off Invitational on Saturday, October 28 and Sunday, October 29 at Glenrochie Country Club in Abingdon, Virginia. Each day's action will begin at 11:30 a.m.
