ABINGDON, Va. – The Emory & Henry College Women's Golf Team concluded the fall season on Sunday afternoon with a runner-up finish at the Buzz Off Invitational. The Wasps tallied their second-best two-round tournament in program history, posting a team score of 624 (+48).

Additionally, sophomore Katie Hall (Abingdon, Va.) defended her title, shooting a program record 145 (+1) to claim medalist honors by two strokes.

Round Three
Hall carded a 73 (+1) for the best round of the day to finish at +1 (72-73 – 145), topping the field by a pair of shots while freshman Abby Bradley (Castlewood, Va.) added a +5 (76) during Sunday's round to finish fifth at +11 (155).

Junior Lexi Humbert (Greeneville, Tenn.) tied for seventh overall, shooting an 83 (+11) in the second round to finish at +14 (158). Junior Briah Frisbee (Leicester, N.C.) posted a +14 (86) to complete the tournament in 17th place with a score of 166 (+22).

Senior Emily Smelcer (Walland, Tenn.) rounded out the team for Emory & Henry, posting an 88 (+16) which was good for 22nd overall at +31 (175). Senior McKenna Quillen (Abingdon, Va.) was 35th overall, playing as an individual as she shot a 97 (+25) to finish the event at +53.

The Winners
Hall got the individual victory with two of the three best rounds of the tournament at +1 over the course of 36 holes. Lucy Holbrough of King (Tenn.) University was the runner-up, shooting a 75 (+3) on Sunday after carding an even-par 72 on Saturday.

King was crowned the team champion, posting a score of 308 on Sunday to finish at 620 (+44). Emory6 & Henry was the team runner-up four shots back at +48 (306-318 – 624).
