ROCK HILL, S.C. – Emory & Henry College sophomore Katie Hall has been selected as the South Atlantic Conference Women's Golfer of the Week, league officials announced Thursday. This year, the SAC Player of the Week awards are sponsored by WePlayed Sports.

The Abingdon, Virginia native and Abingdon High School graduate becomes the first E&H women's golfer in the seven-year history of the program to earn player-of-the-week accolades.

Hall took medalist honors at the Alice Lloyd Spring Invitational last weekend, topping the field by 15 strokes with a score of +3 (70-77 – 147). Her opening round of -2 set the school record and was also the first round under par by a Wasp women's golfer.

As a team, Emory & Henry won the tournament by 40 strokes with the top three individuals and placed all five golfers inside the top nine of the 43-player field.

Hall has now won three tournaments and has five top-fives across seven tournaments this season. She also topped the podium at the Buzz-Off Invitational (Oct. 28-29) and the D&E Battle at Brunswick (Mar. 8).

Emory & Henry will compete in its final regular-season tournament on Tuesday when it travels to Johnson City, Tennessee for the Northeast Tennessee Spring Shootout. The 36-hole event is being hosted by Milligan University at Johnson City Country Club.
