Emory & Henry Women’s Golf Finishes Third At Newberry Invitational Tuesday

GREENSBORO, Ga. – The Emory & Henry University Women's Golf Team finished in third place at the Newberry Invitational on Tuesday, as they shot the second-best 54-hole team score in program history.

Additionally, junior Katie Hall (Abingdon, Va.) and sophomore Abby Bradley (Castlewood, Va.) turned in the second- and third-best individual three-round totals as they both finished in the top five.

Emory & Henry
Hall shot the best round of the tournament on Tuesday, carding a +1 (73) to move up six places into third at +22 (80-85-73 – 238). Her round of 73 also tied for the sixth-best individual score in program history.

Bradley posted a +7 (79) in the final round of the tournament, falling once spot to fifth at +25 (79-83-79 – 241) while freshman McKenzie Hauk (Kingsport, Tenn.) shot an 83 (+11) to take ninth overall  (81-83-83 – 247; +31).

Freshman Ally Childs (Leesburg, Va.) finished the tournament tied for 17th at +50 (87-86-93 – 266) while senior Briah Frisbee (Leicester, N.C.) was 26th, shooting a 92 (+20) on Tuesday to finish at +66 (97-93-92 – 282).

The Winners
Erskine College claimed the team championship as it finished +98 (326-321-315 – 962), 28 shots ahead of second-place Coker University (+126). For the second tournament in a row, Emory & Henry was one stroke behind second at +127 (327-337-327 – 991).

Coker's Daniella Gyoni earned medalist honors as she shot a +18 (78-80-76 – 234) over the three rounds. Lina Lindqvist of Erkine was second at +21 (80-83-74 – 237) just one shot ahead of Hall in third.
