
SOUTHERN PINES, N.C. – The Emory & Henry University Men's & Women's Golf Teams kept their spring rolling on Monday and Tuesday at the Stitch Golf Sandhills Flyers Spring Invitational, hosted by Sandhills Community College at Longleaf Golf & Family Club. The Wasps saw senior Lexi Humbert (Greeneville, Tenn.) earn medalist honors on the women's side while the men finished fifth as a team.

The Men
Senior Jhon Ojeda (Cali, COLOMBIA) tied for fourth in the event turning in rounds of 76 (+4) and 74 (+2) to lead the Wasps at (+6 – 150) while senior Peerapol Huangching (Rayong, THAILAND) shot a +14 (76-82 – 158) to tie for 15th overall.
Sophomore Brice Reichard (Amherst, Va.) carded an 83 (+11) on Monday and an 89 (+17) on Tuesday to take 32nd place at +28 as senior Alex Boone (Clyde, N.C.) posted scores of 83 (+11) and 91 (+19) for a +30 (174) and a T-34th place finish. Senior Trent Gehringer (Fleetwood, Pa.) rounded out E&H's team tied for 38th as he shot an 89 (+17) in the first round and an 87 (+15) in the second for a final score of 176 (+32).
Georgia Military College won the event with a score of +24 (302-298 – 600), topping host Sandhills Community College by nine strokes (301-308 – 609). GMC's Ross Tetrault won medalist honors with a two-day performance of -4 (71-69 – 140), besting teammate Levi Gregg by five strokes (75-70 – 145; +1).
The Women
Humbert led wire-to-wire, carding a +18 (90) on Monday. She followed that up with an 85 (+13) in Tuesday's round to top the field of four golfers with a two-day score of 175 (+31).
Georgia Military College's Hannah Craig was 13 strokes back in second place at 188 (+44).
Up Next
Humbert will be back in action on March 24 & 25 at the Patsy Rendleman Invitational, hosted by Catawba College at The Country Club of Salisbury.
The men's squad will also hit the links on March 24 & 25 at the Cherokee Valley Spring Bash at Cherokee Valley Country Club. North Greenville University will be the host.
