Emory & Henry Women’s Lacrosse Drops First SAC Match to Anderson (S.C.)

ANDERSON, S.C. – The Emory & Henry College Women's Lacrosse Team (0-5, 0-1 SAC) fell in its first South Atlantic Conference match in program history to Anderson (S.C.) University (4-0, 1-0 SAC) Saturday afternoon. The Trojans earned the victory by a 23-3 final.

How It Happened
- The Trojans tallied the first four goals of the game before junior attacker Mina Hicks (Lexington Park, Md.) broke up the streak with an unassisted goal with just over eight minutes remaining in the opening quarter. Anderson would score the next ten straight before sophomore midfielder Justyce Jones (Jacksonville, N.C.) found the back of the net for her tenth goal of the season to make it 14-2. The Trojans would take a 16-2 advantage into the half.
- It was all Anderson in the second stanza as they piled on seven more unanswered scores to balloon the lead out to 23-2. Hicks struck once more with just under four minutes to play on an assist from freshman midfielder Cadence Spaulding (Christiansburg, Va.) to bring the score to its final at 23-3.

Emory & Henry Individual Leaders
- Hicks paced the Wasps with her two goals while she added one ground ball and one draw control. Jones had a team-high two ground balls and a pair of draw controls.
- Freshman goalkeeper Madison Rossi-Dupas (Kingston, Tenn.) finished with seven saves in her first action between the pipes this season.

Anderson (S.C.) Individual Leaders
- Alicia Cannon led the Trojans with five goals while Rayne Dobson added four scores of her own. Jillian LaBelle and Ava Skeffington added three goals each in support.
- Ava Drath earned the win in goal for the Trojans while Kora Turner and Amelia King each saw time in net.
