HICKORY, N.C. – The Emory & Henry College Women's Lacrosse Team (0-9, 0-4 SAC) fell to Lenoir-Rhyne University (2-7, 1-5 SAC) in South Atlantic Conference play Wednesday afternoon. The Lady Bears defeated the Wasps by a 21-2 margin.

How It Happened
- The Lady Bears were first on the scoreboard just 35 seconds into the match, but the Wasps responded two minutes later. Junior attacker Mina Hicks (Lexington Park, Md.) found the back of the net for her 12th goal of the year to tie the match at 1-1. LR took control of the match from there as they tallied 13 unanswered scores to take a 14-1 lead into the halftime break.
- Lenoir-Rhyne continued the scoring pace to start the second half, scoring the first three goals of the period until Hicks struck again, this time utilizing a free position shot to bring the deficit to 17-2. The home team recorded the final four scores of the game to take the win by a 21-2 final score.
Emory & Henry Individual Leaders
- Hicks paced the Wasps with both goals on three shots while winning three draw controls. Sophomore midfielder Justyce Jones (Jacksonville, N.C.) posted a team-high five draw controls while freshman midfielder Meg Bruner (Otto, N.C.) finished with two. Four different Wasps recorded a ground ball in the loss.
- Freshman goalkeeper Madison Rossi-Dupas (Kingston, Tenn.) recorded three saves in between the pipes while scooping up a ground ball.
Lenoir-Rhyne Individual Leaders
- Kirra Olson led Lenoir-Rhyne with a match-high five goals and an assist. Chloe Christensen, Rylie McGhan and Madison Brugger all added three goals each in the win for LR.
- Sally Friesen made two saves in goal while Mckenzie Walsh added another as they combined to allow just two scores.

- The Wasps step out of conference play on Sunday, March 24 when they travel to take on former Old Dominion Athletic Conference foe Sweet Briar College. First draw is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. from Meyer Field.
