No. 14 Limestone Women's Lacrosse Tops Emory & Henry, 22-4, In SAC Action

EMORY, Va. – The No. 14 nationally-ranked Limestone University Women's Lacrosse Team (12-0, 6-0 SAC) defeated Emory & Henry College (1-11, 0-6 SAC) in South Atlantic Conference play Saturday afternoon. The Saints earned the win by a 22-4 final score.

How It Happened
- The Saints took control early as they scored nine times in the opening quarter to take the 9-0 advantage. Limestone continued to pour it on as they tallied five more goals in the second stanza to take a 14-0 lead into the halftime break.
- Limestone was first on the board in the second half, but the Wasps struck back at the 11:37 mark as sophomore midfielder Justyce Jones (Jacksonville, N.C.) buried a shot on an assist from junior attacker Mina Hicks (Lexington Park, Md.) to make it 15-1. LU tacked on three more goals to make the score 18-1 after three quarters. E&H went on a run in the middle stages of the fourth stanza with three consecutive goals. Freshman midfielder Meg Bruner (Otto, N.C.) converted a free-position shot and was followed by Jones' second score of the day, this one of the man up free-position variety, to cut the deficit to 19-3. Jones completed her hat trick with 3:53 on the clock on Hicks' second assist of the day to run the margin to 20-4. The Saints added two more goals in the final minute to take the 22-4 win. 

Emory & Henry Individual Leaders
- Jones paced the Wasps with three goals, three ground balls and a draw control. Hicks had two assists, three draw controls and a pair of ground balls. Bruner finished with a goal and a ground ball.
- Freshman goalkeeper Madison Rossi-Dupas (Kingston, Tenn.) recorded 12 saves and a team-high five ground balls in goal for the Wasps.

Limestone Individual Leaders
- Megan Davis and Joscelin Martin each had a match-high four goals while Keira Martin finished with three scores. Deirdre Jones and Brooke Surace each had a pair of scores in the win.
- Emma McCoy, Izzy Eldridge, Emily Hoffman and Tristan Schkade all split time in goal for the Saints.

- The Wasps are back in action on Wednesday, April 3 when they travel to face the Wolves of Newberry College. First draw is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. from Newberry, South Carolina
