Emory & Henry Women's Lacrosse Falls To Lincoln Memorial, 19-5, In Season Finale

EMORY, Va. – The Emory & Henry Women's Lacrosse Team (4-12, 0-11 SAC) fell in its 2025 season finale at home to Lincoln Memorial University (8-9, 5-6 SAC) in South Atlantic Conference play Wednesday afternoon. The Lady Railsplitters ran out to a 12-3 halftime lead on their way to the 19-5 victory.

How It Happened
- LMU took an early lead as they scored the first two goals of the game, but E&H got on the board at the 8:31 mark of the opening period of play. Senior attacker Mina Hicks (Lexington Park, Md.) converted on a free-position opportunity for her 33rd goal of the season to make it 2-1. Lincoln Memorial responded with five unanswered goals to take a 7-1 advantage into the second period.
- The visitors continued to score to begin the second frame as they tallied the opening three scores of the period. Emory & Henry got back on the board with 10:21 to play as junior midfielder Justyce Jones (Jacksonville, N.C.) buried a free-position chance for her 23rd tally of the season to reduce the gap to 10-2. Hicks followed just under a minute later on another free-position opportunity to trim the deficit to 10-3. LMU added two more scores before the break for the 12-3 lead.
- The Wasps struck quickly to begin the second half as Jones picked up the draw control and sprinted past the LMU defense for her second score of the game to bring E&H back within eight at 12-4. Lincoln Memorial would go on to score the next seven goals over the back half of the third period and beginning of the fourth to run their lead out to 19-4. Emory & Henry had the last say offensively as Hicks converted yet another free-position chance with 2:45 left to send the score to its final at 19-5.

Emory & Henry Individual Leaders
- Hicks led the way with three goals, two ground balls, two draw controls and one caused turnover. Jones added two goals, two ground balls, one caused turnover and a game-high eight draw controls to put her over the 100 mark for her career. Hicks finishes her collegiate career with 128 goals, 73 assists, 201 points, 146 ground balls and 167 draw controls.
- Senior defender Riley Firebaugh (Roanoke, Va.) had a team-high five caused turnovers and a pair of ground balls while sophomore defender Natalie Harris (Hillsville, Va.) added three ground balls and a caused turnover.
- Sophomore goalie Cyrianna Lee (Tampa, Fla.) made eight saves and scooped up three ground balls in between the pipes for the Wasps.

Lincoln Memorial Individual Leaders
- Josie Tinnerello went for a game-high six goals, one assist and a ground ball. Jaiden Jaynes added four goals and a draw control while Jalee Davis and Amber Kirkpatrick recorded three goals each. Kirkpatrick also registered five assists, two ground balls and a caused turnover.
- Elle Miller, Keegan Gillman and Jovie Favati combined for five saves and a ground ball in goal for the Lady Railsplitters.
