EMORY, Va. – The Emory & Henry College Men's Wrestling Team (0-1) opened the dual match portion of its season on Wednesday evening, hosting Southern Virginia University (1-0). The Knights claimed a 34-24 win, sealing the victory in the final bout of the match.

- At the 157-pound weight class, freshman Levi Field (Manassas, Va.) pinned his opponent in 27 seconds to push E&H's advantage to 24-0.
- Sophomore Matt Allen (Oakton, Va.) fell by tech fall at 165 while sophomore Matt Cox (Marion, Va.) lost by fall at 174.
- The Knights got within one, 24-23, thanks to forfeits by the Wasps at 187 and 194.
- At the 285-pound weight class, junior Thomas Roberts (Luttrell, Tenn.) fell by pin at the 2:38.
- SVU won the overall match, 34-24, as freshman Hayden Durussell (Watsontown, Pa.) lost in the second period by technical fall.
