Emory & Henry Men’s Wrestling Competes At The Appalachian Open

BOONE, N.C. – The Emory & Henry College Men's Wrestling Team continued action at the Appalachian Open on Saturday, hosted by Appalachian State University. The Wasps sent five wrestlers in five different weight classes to the event, consisting of mostly NCAA Division I programs.

125 Pounds
- Freshman Gabe Joines (Chilhowie, Va.) finished second in the weight class after a round-robin competition.

133 Pounds
- Freshman Avery Almany (Bristol, Va.) reached the first consolation round to tie for 13th place.

141 Pounds
- Freshman Isaiah Dotson (Jonesville, Va.) tied for ninth making it to the second consolation round.

157 Pounds
- Freshman Levi Field (Manassas, Va.) made it to the second consolation round to end up tied for ninth place.

285 Pounds
- Sophomore Wade Wheeler (Amherst, Va.) also finished tied for ninth after reaching the second consolation round.
