Emory & Henry Men’s Wrestling Downs Bluefield, 39-6, Wednesday On The Road

BLUEFIELD, W.Va. – The Emory & Henry College Men's Wrestling Team (2-9) picked up its second win of the year on Wednesday evening, defeating Bluefield University (0-8) by a 39-6 score. The Wasps were also scheduled to face West Virginia University Institute of Technology but that match was cancelled.

The Match
- Freshman Tito Hernandez (Shelbyville, Tenn.) opened the match with a win by fall in 2:53 at 125 pounds while freshman Isaiah Dotson (Jonesville, Va.) won at 133 pounds on a disqualification.
- At the 133- and 149-pound weight classes, freshmen Avery Almany (Bristol, Va.) and Bryan Carter (Bedford, Va.) won by forfeit, respectively.
- Freshman Levi Field (Manassas, Va.) picked up an 8-6 decision at 157 pounds.
- Bluefield scored its first points, earning wins by forfeit at 165, 174 and 184.
- E&H sealed the victory with wins by fall at 197 and 285. Sophomore Austin McBee (Shelbyville, Tenn.) won in 6:18 at 197 while sophomore Wade Wheeler (Amherst, Va.) claimed his victory in 1:39.
