Emory & Henry Men’s Wrestling Takes Eighth At NCWA Mid-Atlantic Conference Championships Sunday

LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Emory & Henry College Men's Wrestling Team finished in eighth place as a pair of wrestlers took third at the NCWA Mid-Atlantic Conference Championships, hosted by Liberty University on Sunday.

125-Pound Weight Class
- Freshman Tito Hernandez (Shelbyville, Tenn.) fell in his quarterfinal bout, and went through the consolation bracket to finish sixth.

141-Pound Weight Class
- Freshman Isaiah Dotson (Jonesville, Va.) lost in the opening round to James Madison's Ryan Cataldo. In the second consolation round, he suffered a loss by major decision.

149-Pound Weight Class
- Freshman Bryan Carter (Bedford, Va.) lost by fall in the quarterfinals and worked his way through the consolation rounds to take eighth.

157-Pound Weight Class
- Freshman Levi Field (Manassas, Va.) earned a 15-4 victory by major decision in the quarterfinals before falling in the semifinals by decision. In the consolation semifinals, Field grabbed a win by fall in 5:44 and won the third-place bout by fall in 6:28 over Rayme Dagin of Averett University.

197-Pound Weight Class
- Sophomore Austin McBee (Shelbyville, Tenn.) opened his day with a win by fall in the quarterfinals before moving to the consolation bracket after falling in his semifinal bout. After a loss in the consolation semifinals, McBee took sixth place with a medical withdrawal in the fifth-place bout.

285-Pound Weight Class
- Sophomore Wade Wheeler (Amherst, Va.) won his quarterfinal bout by a 3-1 decision before losing by fall in the semifinals. In the consolation semifinals, he picked up a win by fall in 1:21 before on his way to and took third place with a 7-2 decision victory.
