ALLEN, Texas – The Emory & Henry College Men's Wrestling Team concluded its first full season of competition over the weekend at the NCWA National Championships. The Wasps finished in a tie for 34th place in the field with just three competing wrestlers.
Additionally, freshman Levi Field (Manassas, Va.) became the program's first-ever All-American, taking seventh place at the 157-pound weight class.

125-Pound Weight Class
Freshman Tito Hernandez (Shelbyville, Tenn.) reached the second consolation round, losing to Diego Contreras of Big Bend Community College by fall in 2:15.
157-Pound Weight Class
Field opened the tournament with win by fall in just 28 seconds over Ryan Buquicchio of University of Rhode Island. He advanced to the quarterfinals with a 7-4 decision against Marc Kleyman of Rutgers University. In the quarters, Field battled The Ohio State University's Yury Pozdneev through two and a half periods before losing by fall (6:11).
Field got back on track in the fifth consolation round, beating Liberty University's Connor McCann 19-9 for a major decision. He lost a major decision to Zachary Snyder of The University of Toledo (13-5) before rebounding to claim a seventh-place finish and All-America honors with a win over Nathan Egbalic of University of Nevada, Las Vegas in 3:37.
197-Pound Weight Class
Sophomore Austin McBee (Shelbyville, Tenn.) qualified for national competition but withdrew prior to the tournament.
285-Pound Weight Class
Sophomore Wade Wheeler (Amherst, Va.) advanced to the round of eight, defeating Iowa State University's Nathaniel Fernandez by major decision (13-3) and Angel Rojo of Wayne State (Neb.) College by fall (6:41) late in the third period.
Wheeler lost a tight 3-1 decision in the quarterfinals against Caleb Corrigan of Rowan University before exiting the tournament in the fifth consolation round against Florida State University's Claudio Williams, 5-3, to finish in a tie for ninth.
