Emory & Henry Men's Wrestling Falls To Allen And Lander Thursday

GREENWOOD, S.C. – The Emory & Henry College Men's Wrestling Team (1-7, 0-2 SACC) faced off against Allen University (1-1) and Lander University (3-0, 2-0 SACC) on Thursday evening. Allen took the win over the Wasps by a 33-11 decision, while Lander defeated E&H 52-6.

The Allen Match
- The Yellow Jackets began the dual with a 6-0 advantage due to a forfeit at 184-pounds. 
- Sophomore Tito Hernandez (Shelbyville, Tenn.) fell by an 11-6 decision in the 125-pound weight class.
- Sophomore Levi Field (Manassas, Va.) picked up a victory by a 17-2 technical fall scoreline at 157-pounds for the Wasps' first win of the dual.
- E&H freshman Alex Baumberger (Glade Hill, Va.) earned a win by fall at 1:21 in the 174-pound weight class to add to the Wasps' total. 
- Freshman Hunter Brown (Vinton, Va.) came up short at 197-pounds by an 11-4 score.
- Junior Wade Wheeler (Amherst, Va.) dropped a 2-1 decision to his opponent in the 285-pound weight class. 

The Lander Match
- The Bearcats began the dual with a 6-0 advantage due to a forfeit at 184 pounds.
- Wheeler picked up the lone win of the dual with a victory by fall at 1:02.

Up Next
- Emory & Henry will host border rivals King (Tenn.) University on Wednesday, November 30 at 7:00 p.m. The men's squad will compete as one part of a doubleheader with the women's team.
