Emory & Henry Men’s Wrestling Finishes Ninth At Cougar Duals On Sunday

DANVILLE, Va. – The Emory & Henry College Men's Wrestling Team competed at the Cougar Duals hosted by Averett University on Sunday. The Wasps wrestled in five different dual matches finishing ninth-place overall at the event.

- The Cougars picked up the sweep including four forfeit wins in unfilled weight classes.

Fairmont State 43, Emory & Henry 12
- The dual began at 24-6 in favor of Fairmont State due to forfeits.
- The Wasps earned a win at 141 pounds as freshman Logan Arnold (Rocky Mount, Va.) won by fall at the 1:27 mark.

St Andrews 50, Emory & Henry 6
- The Knights began the dual with a 24-6 advantage due to unfilled weight classes.
- Sophomore Tito Hernandez (Shelbyville, Tenn.) earned a win due to forfeit at 125 pounds.

Patrick & Henry CC 24, Emory & Henry 23
- The dual started even at 12-12 due to unfilled weight classes.
- Arnold picked up his second win of the day at 141 pounds with a win by fall at 2:02.
- Freshman Konor Gray (Winston-Salem, N.C.) was victorious at 174 pounds with a win by fall with 4:28 on the clock.

Emory & Henry 34, Southwest Virginia CC 6
- E&H started the dual with a 30-0 advantage due to unfilled weight classes.
- Gray earned another win at 174 pounds, as he picked up a victory by a 16-3 major decision.
