GREENVILLE, S.C. - Emory & Henry College freshman wrestler A.J. Marshall (Culpeper, Va.) has been selected as the Conference Carolinas Men's Wrestling Freshman of the Month for the month of December, league officials announced Friday. He is the first E&H wrestler to earn league honors since the program joined Conference Carolinas.

Marshall picked up the lone win of the day for the Wasps in a Conference Carolinas dual against Emmanuel (Ga.) University on December 6 as he defeated Connor Smith by a 7-4 decision at 174 pounds. 

The Culpeper County High School product then went on to post a 4-1 record at the Cougar Duals hosted by Averett University on December 9. Marshall earned a pair of wins by fall, one victory by major decision and one win by decision on the day. 

Emory & Henry (1-8, 0-4 Carolinas) returns to action on the mat this Sunday, January 7 when the Wasps compete at the Hawk Classic Open, hosted by Huntingdon College.
