No. 22 Montevallo Men's Wrestling Tops Emory & Henry, 40-3, In Conference Carolinas Play Wednesday Evening

EMORY, Va. – The Emory & Henry College Wrestling Team (1-9, 0-5 Carolinas) fell in Conference Carolinas action to the University of Montevallo (3-2, 2-2 Carolinas) on Wednesday evening. The Falcons topped the Wasps by a 40-3 final score.

The Match
- The dual began at 12-0 in favor of the Falcons due to unfilled weight classes.
- Sophomore Logan Arnold (Rocky Mount, Va.) dropped a heartbreaking result at 133 pounds as he led the majority of the bout before falling by a 6-5 decision on a takedown at the whistle.
- Freshman Sebastian Gaberrete (Jeffersonton, Va.) came up short at 165 pounds, falling to Derek Hussey by a 12-3 major decision.
- Freshman A.J. Marshall (Culpeper, Va.) earned the lone win of the night for E&H as he defeated Montevallo's Aiden Knight at 174 by a hardfought 4-1 decision.

- Emory & Henry is back in action Wednesday, January 17 when they host the Railsplitters of Lincoln Memorial University for a Conference Carolinas dual. First bout is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. as the second half of a doubleheader with the women's team.
