Emory & Henry Men’s Wrestling Outlasts Bluefield State, 24-23, In Dual Action Wednesday

BLUEFIELD, W.Va. – The Emory & Henry College Men's Wrestling Team (2-12, 1-8 Carolinas) closed out the dual match portion of its season on Wednesday with a thrilling 24-23 victory over Bluefield State University.

The Match
- The match began with BSU leading, 18-12, due to unfilled weight classes. E&H picked up forfeit wins at 165 pounds (freshman Sebastian Gaberrete (Jeffersonton, Va.) and 285 pounds (sophomore Hunter Brown (Vinton, Va.).
- Junior Tito Hernandez (Shelbyville, Tenn.) posted an 11-8 decision to get things started at the 125-pound weight class while freshman A.J. Marshall (Culpeper, Va.) grabbed a 6-3 decision at 174.
- At 149 pounds, junior Avery Almany (Bristol, Va.) earned a win by fall in 4:24.

- With just one invitational remaining in the regular season, Emory & Henry will turn its attention to postseason competition. The Wasps are next scheduled to compete at the Seminole Rattler Invitational on the campus of Florida A&M University on Saturday.
