Six From Emory & Henry Wrestling Named NWCA Scholar All-Americans

MANHEIM, Pa. – With the conclusion of the 2023-24 academic year, the Emory & Henry College Men's & Women's Wrestling Teams have seen a total of six student-athletes named to the NWCA Scholar All-American Teams. The group is split evenly between the men's and women's programs with three honorees each.

NWCA Executive Director Mike Moyer commended these exceptional athletes for their unwavering dedication and excellence both on and off the mat. "It's a privilege to acknowledge these remarkable athletes for their exceptional accomplishments," Moyer stated. "Congratulations to all the honorees, and we wish them continued success in their academic and athletic pursuits."

On the men's side, freshman Evan Alger (Pulaski, Va.), junior Collin Davidson (Abingdon, Va.) and freshman Sebastian Gaberrete (Jeffersonton, Va.) received the honor. A total of 371 men from 63 institutions were recognized as Scholar All-Americans with 50 coming from the Conference Carolinas.

The women's team saw sophomore Katie Gakin (Aberdeen, Wash.), freshman Molly Keller (Fairlawn, Va.) and junior Skie Roulo (Chesterfield, Va.) selected to the team. Out of the 199 women from 47 schools across the country, 50 recipients came from Region II.

In order for a student-athlete to be nominated to the Scholar All-American Team, they must have a minimum 3.5 cumulative grade point average on a 4.0 scale, with that benchmark at 3.25 for those who qualified for the 2024 National Championships and a 3.0 for those who were All-Americans at the 2024 Nationals. Wrestlers must have competed in at least four dates of competition.
