Jeramiah Hampton is entering his first year as an Assistant Men's & Women's Wrestling Coach at Emory & Henry College. Hampton comes to Emory & Henry after two years of head coaching experience at the NJCAA level. 
 
In his two years as the Head Men’s Coach at Southwest Virginia Community College, Hampton coached four national qualifiers, one district champion, one NJCAA All-American (Austin Suess – 197), and two NWCA Scholar All-Americans (Billy-Jack Cupp and Austin Suess 2023). 
 
Hampton graduated from Alleghany High School in Sparta, North Carolina in 2007. His record in high school was 135-33. He was the most outstanding wrestler of the state dual tournament in 2006-2007, wrestler of the year in 1A/2A Northwest Conference in 2006/2007 and most outstanding wrestler of conference tournament 2005/2006. Hampton was a 4-time all-conference, two-time regional finalist(1 time champ) and two-time all-state wrestler. Hampton was named most outstanding wrestler on back-to-back state championship teams 2005-2007.
 
He ranked as the 19th overall prospect (regardless of division) in the state of North Carolina his senior year according to N.C. Wrestling Scout Report. He was a two-time Agie Skeens Memorial finalist (1 time champ). Hampton received multiple college offers prior to a knee injury his senior year that led him to have surgery and subsequently join the United States Marine Corps. 
 
He has experience during his time in the Marine Corps with: freestyle, Greco-Roman, catch wrestling, submission grappling, and a black belt in the Marine Corps Martial Arts Program. He also has experience: refereeing, assisting with clinics, as well as training and coaching at the elementary, middle school, and high school level.  
 
He holds a full-time position at Marion Correctional Treatment Center as the Director of Recreational Therapy/Coordinator of Interns/Volunteer Services. He is a Marine Corps and Afghanistan War Veteran and holds both a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science and a Masters of Business Administration which he earned from Concordia University, St. Paul in 2015 and 2019, respectively. Hampton resides in Glade Spring with his wife Teea, daughter Eden, son Rowan, and dog Nala.
