EMORY, Va. – Emory & Henry College junior Meredith Inge (Ashland, Va.) has been named to the 2023-24 All-National Intercollegiate Rugby Association Division II Honorable Mention Team, NIRA officials announced earlier this week. She becomes the first player in program history to receive postseason honors.

Inge was a leader on the pitch for the Wasps during their inaugural season, finishing the year with three tries, one assist and a conversion kick. She also was an integral part of the defense for E&H and came up with multiple big stops throughout the season for the fledgling program. Inge scored a hat trick of tries during the historical trio of games that marked the Wasps' first-ever home matches, including the game-winning try in the first win in program history over Warren Wilson College on Sunday, September 17.

NIRA brings together institutions of higher education that compete at the highest levels of intercollegiate women's rugby in the United States. The Association seeks, to organize, manage, and promote the sport of intercollegiate women's rugby. The overarching goal of the Association is to help support the growth of women's rugby nationally to attain NCAA Championship status.
