Randolph-Macon Women’s Soccer Bests Emory & Henry, 3-0, Saturday In ODAC Action

ASHLAND, Va. – The Randolph-Macon College Women's Soccer Team (6-5-1, 3-4 ODAC) scored in the third minute and added two goals in the second as it held off Emory & Henry College (3-10, 2-6 ODAC) by a 3-0 score, Saturday morning in Old Dominion Athletic Conference action.

The Yellow Jackets got on the board early as Meghan O'Neal put her name on the scoresheet with a strike at the 2:10 mark from 30 yards away on the left side. The contest would remain 1-0 in favor of R-MC through the remainder of the first half.

Randolph-Macon added a second goal in the 53rd minute as Jen LaBarge served up a corner kick that found the head of Kasey Martino for the goal. The Yellow Jackets added an insurance goal with 25:34 remaining in the contest when Martino laid a pass off for Lindsey Hall, who finished from 10 yards out.

Elizabeth Blanco and Hannah Moyer played 45 minutes each in goal for R-MC with Moyer making a pair of second-half saves. Emory & Henry sophomore Vicki Fenley (Chesapeake, Va.) stopped five shots despite the loss.

As a team, Randolph-Macon outshot E&H by a 17-3 margin while the corner kick tally was even, 2-2. The Yellow Jackets had five different attacks stopped by offside violations.

Emory & Henry will next take the field on Saturday, October 18 when it travels to Winchester, Virginia for an ODAC contest with Shenandoah University. Kickoff between the Wasps and the Hornet is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
