Emory & Henry Women’s Soccer Announces Camp Opportunities For Summer 2015

EMORY, Va. - The Emory & Henry College Women's Soccer Program is pleased to announce the fourth annual Wasp Soccer Academy. Under the direction of Head Coach Linda Schirmeister-Gess, the camp will take place from Monday, July 27 through Friday, July 31 on the E&H campus.

For a second year, the Wasp Soccer Academy will feature two versions running concurrently. There will be the Wasp Soccer Academy for ages 5-13 and the Wasp Soccer Academy-PLUS for ages 13-18.

Wasp Soccer Academy will focus on teaching the basic skills of the game, and is designed for elementary to early middle school players at a beginner's level of playing experience. The focus of the Academy will be on fundamental soccer skills including passing and receiving, dribbling and ball control, finishing and the principles of attacking, defending and transition. The Academy will run from 10:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., daily with the cost of $100. Click HERE for an informational flyer.

Wasp Soccer Academy-PLUS, in its second year, is for those players who have experience playing organized soccer. These campers will be in the 13-18 age range and the focus will be on a more competitive atmosphere while still providing individual player development. There will be three training sessions per day, with competitive scrimmages daily. The Academy will run from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., daily with the cost of $125. The E&H Women's Soccer Team will also be hosting an Exposure Camp for high school sophomores, juniors and seniors on Sunday, August 2 on the E&H campus.

The day will include two specialized training sessions with the Emory & Henry Coaching Staff and will also include a competitive gameplay component. Free time with the current team, a campus tour and session with Admissions and sessions for parents will also be offered.

The cost for the camp is $50 and participant will be provided with lunch and a t-shirt. There will also be general meetings with the members of the E&H Women's Soccer staff about what it is like to play intercollegiate soccer at the NCAA Division III level. For the camp flyer, please click HERE.
