Emory & Henry Women’s Soccer Downs Bluefield, 3-0, Wednesday At Home

EMORY, Va. – The Emory & Henry College Women's Soccer Team (3-0) completed its season-opening homestand with a third-straight win Wednesday night, defeating Bluefield University (0-3) by a 3-0 score.

How It Happened
- E&H got on the board midway through the 14th minute when sophomore forward Adrienne Harris (Hillsville, Va.) caused a turnover at the top of the box and struck a shot to the top 90 of the near post.
- The Wasps made it 2-0 at the 28:57 mark when junior midfielder Helen Frazier (Vienna, Va.) found senior forward Callie McMurray (Gate City, Va.) with a through-ball that she slotted past the goalkeeper.
- With just over five minutes to go before the intermission, Emory & Henry got its third score of the contest. Junior forward Jill Nix (Mechanicsville, Va.) played a pass across the 18-yard box to freshman midfielder Karlijn Keuters (The Hague, NETHERLANDS) for a powerful finish.
- E&H finished the game with a 29-7 shot advantage and held an 8-2 lead on corner kicks.

Emory & Henry Individual Leaders
- McMurray led all players with five shots, while Nix put three of her four chances on target and freshman forward Camilla Dobraniecki (Chesapeake, Va.) added another four attempts.
- Junior Natalie Capone (Kannapolis, N.C.) and sophomore Asia Baldwin (Mars Hill, N.C.) combined for the team's third shutout of the season as Baldwin made one save.

Bluefield Individual Leaders
- Macy McBride and Brynn Hartman posted three and two shots, respectively in the contest.
- Madison Price made four saves in the first half while Emily Ledford added another three saves in the second for the Rams.
