
SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Emory & Henry College Women's Soccer Team (4-0-1) kept its unbeaten streak alive as it went the full 110 minutes against Converse University (0-3-2) for a 1-1 draw Wednesday afternoon.

How It Happened
- The two squads battled for control during the first 45 minutes with the Valkyries out-shooting the Wasps, 3-1.
- With 15:39 left in regulation, E&H won a penalty kick. Junior midfielder Grace Williams (Earlysville, Va.) was called upon to take the shot and converted it to put Emory & Henry ahead 1-0.
- Two and a half minutes later, Converse got the equalizer from Ellie Gore (77:00) Kiersten Schrawyer was credited with the assist.
- Both teams has chances in the final minutes to claim victory but the contest was bound for extra time.
- Action in the two overtime periods produced a single chance, a shot by Converse which hit the crossbar as the final score would remain 1-1.
Emory & Henry Individual Leaders
- Williams led E&H as she scored her goal on three opportunities, all of which she put on target. Senior forward Callie McMurray (Gate City, Va.) also had a shot on frame.
- Junior goalkeeper Natalie Capone (Kannapolis, N.C.) made five saves as she played the full 110 minutes, allowing her first goal of the season.
Converse Individual Leaders
- Gore scored on her only shot of the match as Schrawyer led the Valkyries with three shots, putting two on target.
- Daelynn Perry earned the result in goal for Converse, making three saves in the second half and overtime.
