DANBURY, Conn. – The Emory & Henry College Women's Soccer Team has seen one of its own honored by the ECAC as freshman forward Camilla Dobraniecki (Chesapeake, Va.) was named ECAC Division II Women's Soccer Rookie of the Month for October.

The award comes as part of the College's partnership with the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference which provides additional opportunities for recognition and competition during the Wasps' process of reclassifying to NCAA Division II.

Dobraniecki led the Wasps to a 4-2 record during the month of October, scoring three goals and adding an assist. She posted the match-winner at Bluefield State College (Oct. 21) and had a goal and an assist against Eastern Mennonite University on October 23. Her third score came as part of a Homecoming Weekend victory over Carolina University (Oct. 17).

For the year, Dobraniecki led the team with seven goals, including three-match winners. The Wasps posted a 9-3-2 overall record, the first winning season and most wins since 2011 when they also won nine contests.

Founded in 1938, the ECAC has more than 200 member schools across all three NCAA Divisions, stretching from Maine to Georgia to Missouri. Its mission is to enhance the experience of student-athletes participating in intercollegiate athletics, and provide great value for universities and colleges, by sponsoring championships, leagues, bowl games, tournaments, and other competitions. Most of the ECAC's members also belong to another conference, which is often the school's primary conference.
