
EMORY, Va. – Coming off its first winning season in 10 years, the Emory & Henry College Women's Soccer Team and Head Coach Filipe Barateiro are primed to join the South Atlantic Conference. This year, the Wasps will play 16 of their 17 contests against NCAA Division II programs with 10 home matches on the schedule.

For the second year in a row, Emory & Henry opens the year with a three-match homestand. The Wasps host Washington Adventist University on Wednesday, August 31 at 5:00 p.m. to get things started and will also welcome Converse University (Fri, Sept. 2) and King (Tenn.) University (Sun., Sept. 4) to campus.
E&H will enter SAC play on Wednesday, September 7 at Catawba College and continue its road trip on Saturday, September 10 at Wingate University while also visiting Bluefield State College on Tuesday, September 13.
Back-to-back home contests await against Newberry College on Sunday, September 18 and Carson-Newman University on Wednesday, September 21. After traveling to Limestone University (Sat., Sept. 24), Emory & Henry will be at home against Anderson (S.C.) University on Sunday, October 2.
The Wasps next travel to Lenoir-Rhyne University on Wednesday, October 5 and will be the home side against Tusculum Univeristy on Wednesday, October 12. E&H plays at Mars Hill University on Friday, October 14 before closing out the year with three of its final four matches at home.
Bluefield State makes the short trip to Southwest Virginia on Wednesday, October 19 and the Wasps will host Coker University on Saturday, October 22. The final road test for E&H is on Wednesday, October 26 at Lincoln Memorial University as the team closes out the season against Salem (W.Va.) Univeristy on Sunday, October 30.
One new rule this year in college soccer is the elimination of overtime during regular-season matches. The contests will be played as two 45-minute halves and will end as a tie following regulation. Postseason play will still utilize two 10-minute periods and a penalty shootout (if necessary) to determine the advancing team.
