No. 10 Catawba Women's Soccer Handles Emory & Henry, 7-0, In Wasps' First SAC Match

SALISBURY, N.C. - The Emory & Henry College Women's Soccer Team (1-2) fell in its South Atlantic Conference debut to nationally-ranked Catawba College on Wednesday by a score of 7-0. The Lady Catawba Indians are currently the No. 10 team in NCAA Division II according to the United Soccer Coaches.

How It Happened
- Catawba opened the scoring early in the game with a goal from Hannah Dunn just five minutes into the contest on assists from Helen Summerell and Sharon Mayes. Dunn would add her second in the tenth minute on another assist from Summerell to make the score 2-0.
- Dunn completed her hat trick in the 35th minute when she slotted a cross from Lillie Rusher into the back of the E&H net for a 3-0 lead at the half.
- Dunn would strike again with her fourth of the game three minutes after the halftime break to increase the Catawba lead. Summerell made it 5-0 in the 51st minute with a goal on an assist from Katie Webb.
- The hosts added two more goals, one each from Rusher and Kelly Havens, to bring the score to its final tally of 7-0.

Emory & Henry Individual Leaders
- Senior midfielder Helen Frazier (Vienna, Va.) registered the only shot for Emory & Henry.
- Senior goalkeeper Natalie Capone (Kannapolis, N.C.) recorded 13 saves in goal for the Wasps.

Catawba Individual Leaders
- Dunn led the offensive attack for Catawba with four goals on six shots while Summerell added a goal and two assists.
- Sierra Davis and Allison Frederick combined for the shutout in goal for Catawba.

- Emory & Henry continues its SAC road trip, as the Wasps travel to Wingate, North Carolina on Saturday to take on the Bulldogs of Wingate University. Kickoff is scheduled for 5:00 p.m., with the Emory & Henry men's team playing at 7:30 p.m. as the second part of a conference doubleheader.
