No. 21 Wingate Women’s Soccer Picks Up 2-0 Win Saturday Over Emory & Henry

WINGATE, N.C. – The No. 21 Wingate University Women's Soccer Team (5-0-1, 1-0-1 SAC) scored once in each half on its way to a 2-0 South Atlantic Conference win over visiting Emory & Henry College (1-3, 0-2 SAC) Saturday afternoon. It was the second contest in a row against a Top-25 team for the Wasps.

How It Happened
- Wingate got on the board midway through the 29th minute. Caroline Peters served up a ball for Sascha Larsen that she slotted into the lower-right corner of the goal.
- After the half, the Bulldogs extended their lead to 2-0. It was Peters this time who found the back of the net for the deciding margin.

Emory & Henry Individual Leaders
- Senior midfielder Grace Williams (Earlysville, Va.) tallied the lone shot on target for the Wasps while junior forward Adrienne Harris (Hillsville, Va.) also notched an attempt.
- Senior Natalie Capone (Kannapolis, N.C.) made nine saves despite the loss.

Wingate Individual Leaders
- Wingate's offense was paced by Peters with a goal and an assist on night shots. Brianna Ditillo posted six chances of her own, putting two on frame.
- Katrine Thisgaard earned the shutout playing the entire 90 minutes in goal.
