Limestone Women’s Soccer Shuts Out Emory & Henry, 4-0, Friday Evening

GAFFNEY, S.C. - The Limestone University Women's Soccer Team (6-2, 3-2 SAC) earned a victory over Emory & Henry College (2-6, 0-5 SAC) on Friday evening. The Saints took the South Atlantic Conference tussle by a 4-0 margin.

How It Happened
- The two squads were held scoreless through the first half hour of play. The Saints registered seven shots in the first 30 minutes, but the Wasps were able to keep things level. Limestone opened the scoring in the 37th minute on a goal from Ashton Brooks, assisted by Tabea Schutt. The score stood at 1-0 at the halftime break.
- Limestone increased their lead to two in the 48th minute when Andrea Zwinkels found the back of the net on an assist from Tuva Hodne. Zwinkels added another in the 54th minute on a put-back after a rebounding shot from Amanda Chimbima to make it 3-0 in favor of the Saints. Zwinkels would complete her hat-trick in the 59th minute on an assist from Brooks to increase the margin to 4-0, where it would stay until the final whistle. 

Emory & Henry Individual Leaders
- Sophomore midfielder Olivia Haynes (Spotsylvania, Va.) fired three shots, with one finding the target. Junior forward Maddie Hummel (Spotsylvania, Va.) and senior defender Ashlee Jordan (Boones Mill, Va.) each recorded a shot, with Hummel finding the target as well.
- Senior goalkeeper Natalie Capone (Kannapolis, N.C.) recorded seven saves in between the sticks to lead the Wasps on defense. 

Limestone Individual Leaders
- Zwinkels led Limestone with a hat-trick on five shots, all on goal. Brooks added a goal and an assist, while Chimbima, Hodne and Schutt each contributed a helper.
- Samantha Aguilar and Macy Williams combined for two saves and the shutout in goal.

Up Next
- The Wasps host the Trojans of Anderson (S.C.) University on Sunday, October 2 to wrap up Homecoming Weekend. The women's team will play the first half of a doubleheader with the men's team, with kickoff scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
