Emory & Henry Women’s Soccer Battles Coker To A Scoreless Draw Saturday

EMORY, Va. - The Emory & Henry College Women's Soccer Team (2-10-2, 0-8-2 SAC) earned a draw against Coker University (4-7-3, 2-7-1 SAC) in South Atlantic Conference play on Saturday afternoon. The teams split the 0-0 decision.

How It Happened
- The two teams both created scoring chances in the opening moments of the first half that were turned back by the opposing defenses. The Cobras outshot the Wasps in the opening frame by a 6-3 margin, but the two sides remained scoreless at the halftime whistle.
- The second half of play presented more of the same, as both teams worked hard to create opportunities to score that were denied by the two defenses. Despite the work rate and effort of the squads, they would have to share the point with a 0-0 draw.

Emory & Henry Individual Leaders
- Junior forward Adrienne Harris (Hillsville, Va.) led the Wasps with two shots, one of which found its target. Senior midfielder Grace Williams (Earlysville, Va.) also had one shot that was on goal.
- Senior goalkeeper Natalie Capone (Kannapolis, N.C.) led the defensive effort for the Wasps with six saves in net.

Coker Individual Leaders
- Chloe Grein and Nour Noujaim each had three shots to pace the Cobras.
- Sarah Swaim made two saves in net for Coker

Up Next
- Emory & Henry returns to action on Wednesday when they make the trip to Harrogate, Tenn. to take on the Railsplitters of Lincoln Memorial University. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:00 p.m., as the first part of a doubleheader with the men's soccer team.
