Emory & Henry Women's Soccer Falls To Lincoln Memorial In Season Finale

EMORY, Va. - The Emory & Henry College Women's Soccer Team (3-9-5, 0-8-3 SAC) surrendered a pair of goals in the first half and could not overcome the early deficit in a 3-0 loss to Lincoln Memorial University (8-6-3, 4-4-3 SAC) in South Atlantic Conference play on Wednesday evening.

How It Happened
- Lincoln Memorial got the scoring underway in the 13th minute when Ryan Branson found Carla Wilson, who slotted the ball into the back of the net to give the Lady Splitters the 1-0 advantage. LMU doubled their lead in the 29th minute on a corner kick that Merel Houweling put into the box and Donna Van Der Zalm headed the ball home to make it 2-0. The visiting team fired 11 shots in the opening half and held the 2-0 advantage at the halftime break.
- Branson found Ellie Snyder in the 47th minute, who scored the third goal of the night for LMU to make it a 3-0 score. The Lady Splitters held on to the three-goal margin to take the victory by the 3-0 final.

Emory & Henry Individual Leaders
- Freshman forward Hana Kirsch (Powell, Tenn.) and junior midfielder Karlijn Keuters (The Hague, NETHERLANDS) each had a pair of shots to lead the Wasps. 
- Sophomore Adriana Rehg (Talbott, Tenn.) recorded four saves in goal for the Wasps. 

Lincoln Memorial Individual Leaders
- Carla Wilson paced LMU with three shots, while four different players registered a pair of shots in the winning effort.
- Bente Latenstein and Isabelle Zukaitis combined for five saves to help preserve the shutout.
