HICKORY, N.C. - The No. 13 nationally-ranked Lenoir-Rhyne University Women's Soccer Team (3-0-2, 1-0-1 SAC) established a 2-0 halftime lead before pulling away from Emory & Henry University (3-2, 1-1 SAC) in the second half of a South Atlantic Conference match Saturday night. The Bears topped the Wasps by a 5-0 final score.

How It Happened
- The Bears began the game on the offensive as they outshot the Wasps by a 12-1 margin in the opening 25 minutes of play, but neither team could break through on the scoreboard. LR opened the scoring in the 28th minute when Lilly Soltz headed home a cross from Evan O'Leary to push the home team ahead 1-0. The Bears increased their lead to two goals just before halftime in the 44th minute on a shot from Rosa Gonzalez.
- LR added a third goal in the 50th minute after a foul in the 18-yard box resulted in a penalty being awarded. Tea Sabin converted the spot kick and the Bears led 3-0. The Bears tallied goals in the 61st and 87th minute to cruise to the 5-0 victory.
Emory & Henry Individual Leaders
- Senior midfielder Karlijn Keuters (The Hague, NETHERLANDS), sophomore midfielder Charlotte Stavis (Charlotte, N.C.) and fifth-year forward Grace Wagner (Front Royal, Va.) each registered a shot for the Wasps.
- Sophomore goalkeeper Ava Puskas (Chesapeake, Va.) recorded a career-high 10 saves in between the posts.
Lenoir-Rhyne Individual Leaders
- Five different Bears found the back of the net. Ava Hartman led the team with five shots while Lilly Soltz and O'Leary finished with four attempts each.
- Riley Miller made one save in goal to earn the win.
