How It Happened
- The Wasps began the match on the front foot as they fired a pair of shots on target in the opening five minutes of play, forcing the Lions' goalkeeper into action. E&H broke through on the scoreboard in the 7th minute when sophomore forward Hana Kirsch (Powell, Tenn.) found fellow sophomore forward Charlotte Stavis (Charlotte, N.C.) with a pass, and Stavis slotted the ball into the back of the net for her sixth goal of the season. E&H increased its lead to two goals in the 19th minute when senior midfielder Olivia Haynes (Spotsylvania, Va.) found the side netting of the goal from a tough angle on the right wing for her first goal of the year and 10th of her career. The Wasps rounded out the first-half scoring in the 40th minute. Senior midfielder Lucy Dunlop (York, ENGLAND) played a beautiful through ball to Stavis, who beat the keeper for the second time to push the margin out to a commanding 3-0 lead heading into the half.
