Michaela Nolte Named ODAC Women’s Swimmer of the Week

FOREST, Va. – Emory & Henry College senior Michaela Nolte has been selected as the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Women's Swimmer of the Week, ODAC officials announced Monday. It is the third time this year that an E&H swimmer has won the award and marks the seventh time in Nolte's career.

The Hillsborough, North Carolina native and 2016 NCAA Division III Championship qualifier broke four school records Saturday as the Wasps split a double dual against ODAC opponents, Hollins University and Bridgewater College.

Nolte accounted for four of the team's nine event victories as she had wins in the 100-meter and 200-meter breaststroke, stopping the watches in 1:15.17 and 2:44.27, respectively. Her leadoff leg of :27.70 in the 200-meter freestyle relay was good enough to break her own record in the 50-meter freestyle. Nolte also helped the Wasps win the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 2:09.69, swimming the breaststroke portion of the race.

Emory & Henry's final meet of the regular season will be on Friday, January 27 when it hosts King (Tenn.) University and Milligan College at 6:00 p.m. The meet will also serve as Senior Day as the Wasps will honor their five seniors prior to the first race.
