Emory & Henry Women’s Swimming Earns Two Spots On All-ODAC Teams

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Emory & Henry College Women's Swimming Team has seen two of its members named to the All-ODAC Teams, league officials announced Thursday.

The all-conference teams were determined by placement in events at the 2018 ODAC Swimming Championships. Those placing first or second in individual events earned first team distinction, while third- and fourth-place finishers were tabbed to the second team. The third team is comprised of fifth- and sixth-place swimmers.

Junior Olivia Anson (Apex, N.C.) was named to the All-ODAC Second Team while freshman Cat Sweigart (Bridgewater, Va.) earned third-team accolades.

Anson placed third in the 200-yard freestyle and took fifth in both the 50- and 100-yard freestyles. Sweigart was 5th in the 100-yard breaststroke, seventh in the 200-yard breaststroke and took 12th in the 200-yard individual medley.

Washington and Lee University won the team title for the 12th year in a row led by ODAC Swimmer of the Meet Emily Hageboeck who also won ODAC/Virginia Farm Bureau Insurance Scholar-Athlete of the Year. It was the second year in a row that Hageboeck has won both awards. W&L's Caroline Baber was tabbed as ODAC Rookie of the Year.

The ODAC Coach of the Year was presented to Brett Kintzer of Randolph-Macon College. Kelly Hilliker of Bridgewater College was named the winner of the Bonnie Kestner Sportsmanship Award.
