Roanoke Men’s & Women’s Swimming Take Down Emory & Henry Saturday Afternoon

SALEM, Va. – The Roanoke College Men's & Women's Swimming Teams earned a pair Old Dominion Athletic Conference dual meet wins against visiting Emory & Henry College Saturday afternoon. The Maroon men won, 151-46, while the women claimed a 159-36 victory.

The Men
- In the 200-yard medley relay, the team of senior Jarod Bracero (Hoboken, N.J.) freshman Jackson Cheatham (Appomattox, Va.), sophomore Nick Moore (Lebanon, Va.) and senior Nick Barr (Chilhowie, Va.) went 1:47.37 to finish third.
- Sophomore Blake Madaris (Acworth, Ga.) established the E&H record in the 1,000-yard freestyle with a swim of 11:46.96.
- Sophomore Mack Henningsen (Abingdon, Va.) was third in the 200-yard freestyle (1:57.68) while freshman Noah Wilson (Frederick, Md.) took third in the 100-yard backstroke (1:00.01).
- In the 500-yard freestyle, Moore went a 7:02.66 to finish third, while freshman Luc Grillet (Matthews, N.C.) won the 100-yard breaststroke, stopping the watches in 1:03.69.
- The Wasps took second in the 800-yard freestyle relay on the efforts of freshman Ryan Spangler (Daleville, Va.), Madaris, Henningsen and Barr with a time of 8:42.58.

The Women
- Freshman Kenzie Welch (Knoxville, Tenn.) earned a pair of third-place finishes in the 100-yard backstroke (1:09.12) and the 500-yard freestyle (5:49.66).
- Freshman Hannah Patton (Marion, Va.) finished third in the 1,000-yard freestyle at 13:56.53 while sophomore Anne-Louise Tunstall (Mount Airy, N.C.) was third in the 200-yard individual medley (1:07.92).
- Sophomore Cat Sweigart (Bridgewater, Va.) claimed third in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:14.90 while freshman Paige Woodworth (Davidson, N.C.) swam a 1:06.54 in the 100-yard freestyle to take third.
- The 800-yard freestyle relay was contested by Welch, Prager, Patton and sophomore Leah Mumpower (Bristol, Va.). The group finished in 9:38.75 for second place.

Up Next
- Emory & Henry will close out the fall portion of its season next weekend when it competes in the Yellow Jacket Invitational on Saturday and Sunday.
