Emory & Henry Women’s Swimming Finishes Eighth At The Yellow Jacket Invitational

RICHMOND, Va. – The Emory & Henry College Women's Swimming Team started its 2021-22 season over the weekend at the King University Early Season Invitational. The Wasps finished 12th out of 12 competing teams.

Top Finishes
- Freshman Paige Gelenski (Boca Raton, Fla.) gave E&H its best finish of the weekend, taking fourth in the 200-yard butterfly (2:18.11). She was also 12th in the 400-yard individual medley, clocking a 5:02.13.
- Senior Cat Sweigart (Bridgewater, Va.) finished ninth in the 100-yard breaststroke with a swim of 1:11.00 and took 16th in the 200-breast (2:36.24) and 24th in the 50-yard freestyle (:26.42).
- Freshman Tilly Craddock (Christiansburg, Va.) came in 10th in the 100-yard freestyle with a :55.63 and was also 10th in the 200-yard freestyle at 2:01.05. She put up a 5:28.39 in the 500-free, finishing 13th.
- Freshman Peyton Helscher (Simi Valley, Calif.) touched the wall 11th in the 1,650-yard freestyle (19:18.12) and was 13th in the 200-yard backstroke with a mark of 2:21.04.
- The Wasps 800-yard freestyle relay of Gelenski, Helscher, freshman Rachel Ritter (Gibsonville, N.C.) clocked an 8:29.27 to finish ninth. E&H was 11th in the 400-yard freestyle relay (3:50.47) thanks to Sweigart, freshman Danyelle Dukes (Center Point, Ala.), Gelenski and Craddock.
