Lees-McRae Men’s & Women’s Swimming Top Emory & Henry Friday Evening

EMORY, Va. – The Lees-McRae College College Men's & Women's Swimming Teams picked up dual-meet victories over Emory & Henry College Friday evening. The Bobcat men won by a 151-54 margin while the women's meet was decided by a 123-77 score in favor of LMC.

The Wasps' men's team posted a pair of new school records on the evening.

The Men
- E&H opened the meet with a new program best in the 200-meter medley relay, going nearly three seconds faster than the previous best. Sophomore Corey Kidd (Stockbridge, Ga.) and freshmen Nate Perez (San Antonio, Texas), Owen Seymour (Signal Mountain, Ga.) and Scott Boyden (Virginia Beach, Va.) went a 1:56.00 to finish third in the event.
- Freshman Max Betzer (Cumming, Ga.) won the 800-meter freestyle with a new E&H record of 9:01.00 and was second in the 400-meter freestyle at 4:28.09.
- Kidd was the runner-up in the 50-meter freestyle, stopping the watches in :24.63, and also claimed a second-place finish in the 100-free at :55.74.
- Sophomore Matthew Gocke (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) grabbed third in the 400-meter freestyle with a time of 4:29.87 while freshman Caleb Patton (Marion, Va.) was third in the 100-meter individual medley (2:31.87). Perez took third in the 100-fly at 1:06.47.

The Women
- Freshman Gabby Sadosky (Las Vegas, Nev.) picked up a win in the 400-meter freestyle with a time of 4:51.38 and was second in the 800-meter freestyle, clocking a 10:00.96.
- Freshman Mackenzie Barnett (Monroe Township, N.J.) won the 200-meter individual medley in 2:34.06 and was the runner-up in the 100-meter freestyle at 1:02.46.
- Sophomore Hope Christensen (Moroni, Utah) placed second in the 50-meter freestyle (:28.22) and was third in the 100-free with a swim of 1:03.41.
- Sophomore Paige Gelenski (Boca Raton, Fla.) took second in the 200-meter freestyle, stopping the watches in 2:17.76 and added a third-place swim of 1:09.77 in the 100-meter butterfly.
- Sophomore Rachel Ritter (Gibsonville, N.C.) took second in the 100-meter breaststroke, recording a 1:23.76, and was third in the 200-IM at 2:44.46.
- Freshman Mick Sorochen (Monmouth Junction, N.J.) was the runner up in the 100-fly (1:08.72) with sophomore Tilly Craddock (Christiansburg, Va.) placing third in the 100-back at 1:17.05.
- Freshman Jill Koler (Manassas, Va.) was third in the 100-breast with a time of 1:24.08.

Up Next
- Emory & Henry will be on the road Saturday when it visits Mars Hill University for a South Atlantic Conference dual meet. First splash for the Wasps and Lions is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
