Emory & Henry Men’s & Women’s Swimming Remain Sixth At SAC Championships Thursday

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Emory & Henry University Men's & Women's Swimming Teams continued action at the South Atlantic Conference Championships on Thursday. Both squads remain in sixth place through three days of the championship.

The Basics

The Women
- Event 11 – 100-Yard Butterfly – Senior Hope Christensen (Moroni, Utah) placed 17th with a time of 59.09 seconds while senior Paige Gelenski (Boca Raton, Fla) was 18th, clocking a :59.23.
- Event 13 – 400-Yard Individual Medley – Gelenski finished 14th, swimming a 4:47.00 as senior Rachel Ritter (Gibsonville, N.C.) was 20th at 5:13.39.
- Event 15 – 200-Yard Freestyle – Senior Peyton Helscher (Simi Valley, Va.) took 23rd, swimming a 2:02.88. In the prelims, freshman Kursten Thomas (Marion, Va.) was 30th, sophomore Jaxon Thurman (Ooltewah, Tenn.) was 32nd, freshman Sierra Carson (Pasadena, Md.) was 33rd and junior Bri Digby (Carrollton, Va.) was 35th.
- Event 17 – 400-Yard Medley Relay – Freshman Aida Matute Moreno (Viladecans, SPAIN), Ritter, Helscher and Thomas swam a 4:21.63 to finish sixth.

The Men
- Event 12 – 100-Yard Butterfly – Sophomore Ryan Teuton (Chattanooga, Tenn.) placed 19th in :51.82 with senior Corey Kidd (Stockbridge, Ga.) taking 20th in 51.85 seconds. Sophomore Brady Jones (Bluefield, Va.) and freshman Ian Shirk (Black Mountain, N.C.) were 32nd and 35th, respectively in the preliminaries.
- Event 14 – 400-Yard Individual Medley – Junior Caleb Patton (Marion, Va.) placed 15th with a time of 4:12.05.
- Event 16 – 200-Yard Freestyle – Junior Jordan Krafft (Waxhaw, N.C.) and freshman Ethan Veselik (Marion, Va.) were 30th and 31st in the prelims.
- Event 18 – 400-Yard Medley Relay – Kidd, Patton, Krafft and Jones finished sixth, touching the wall in 3:45.86.
