Emory & Henry Women's Tennis Drops A Trio Of ODAC Matches This Weekend

LEXINGTON, Va. - The Emory & Henry College Women's Tennis Team (5-6, 0-3 ODAC) dropped a trio of Old Dominion Athletic Conference matches across Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning on the campus of Washington and Lee University.

Due to limited court space and eight teams being in competition this weekend, all matches were played to decision and not completion.

The Wasps fell, 5-0, to the Marlins of Virginia Wesleyan College to start the weekend and lost, 5-1, at the hands of the Randolph-Macon College Yellow Jackets in the nightcap.

Virginia Wesleyan got out to a 3-0 lead after the doubles portion of the match and picked up the top two singles flights to earn the victory over E&H.

Against Randolph-Macon, the Wasps found themselves down 3-0 after doubles as well. During singles, freshman Taylor Evans (Weber City, Va.) got back on the winning track as she won 6-0, 6-1 to save the clean sweep.

Sunday morning, Emory & Henry took on No. 15 Washington and Lee. The Generals, whose lineup included several of the top players in the region, won by a 5-0 score.

Emory & Henry will host Randolph College in ODAC action on Saturday afternoon beginning at 1:00 p.m.
