Two From Emory & Henry Women’s Tennis Receive Individual Regional Rankings From ITA

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – Two members of the Emory & Henry College Women's Tennis Team have received an individual regional ranking from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association. The rankings were released in conjunction with the completion of the fall ITA Tournaments.

Sophomore Stella Di Michele (San Remo, ITALY) and junior Chiara Mossi (Manduria, ITALY) are among the top 30 players in the Atlantic South Region after posting strong results during their three fall tournaments.

Di Michele, the 2014 ODAC Rookie of the Year, holds the No. 24 ranking in the Atlantic South with a 6-2 record. She won the No. 1 singles flight at the Methodist Fall Invitational in October and reached the second round of the ITA South Regional Tournament this past September.

Mossi is the 27th-ranked player in the region with a 7-2 singles record. The junior won the No. 2 draw of the Bluefield Women's Tennis Invitational without dropping a single game, reached the Round of 16 at the ITA South Regionals and claimed a fifth-place finish in the main draw of the Methodist Fall Invitational.

Emory & Henry will kick off the spring portion of its season on Sunday, February 22 with its first dual match of the year. The Wasps will travel to face the Spirits of Salem College in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. First serve is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
