Emory & Henry Women’s Tennis Earns Academic Awards From The ITA

SKILLMAN, N.J. – The Emory & Henry College Women's Tennis Team has been recognized for its academic excellence by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association.

The Wasps were one of three schools from the Old Dominion Athletic Conference and 102 NCAA Division III programs nationally to achieve a cumulative team grade-point average of over 3.20 for the 2014-15 academic year.

Additionally, seven members of the team were honored as ITA Scholar-Athletes on an individual basis. Those recognized were: junior Alyssa Lambert (Pulaski, Va.), junior Chiara Mossi (Manduria, ITALY), junior Danielle Amoruso (Orange County, Va.), sophomore Kala Curtis (Locust Grove, Va.), senior Sheyenne Cleveland (Rural Retreat, Va.) and sophomore Zoe Aguayo (Moravian Falls, N.C.).

In order to earn ITA Scholar-Athlete status a player must meet the following criteria: Be a varsity letter winner, have a grade point average of at least 3.50 for the current academic year and have been enrolled at their present school for at least two semesters.
