Emory & Henry Women’s Tennis Picked To Finish Seventh This Season By ODAC Coaches

FOREST, Va. – The Emory & Henry College Women's Tennis Team has been tabbed as seventh in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference by the league's 11 head coaches, ODAC officials announced Wednesday.

The Wasps are coming off an injury-plagued campaign in 2014-15 in which their top three players sustained season-ending injuries. E&H went 2-10 overall with a 1-10 mark in ODAC play. This season, Emory & Henry returns two of its top players from a year ago and welcomes five newcomers, who will contribute at various places in the lineup.

Perennial ODAC power Washington and Lee University, which has won 25 league titles, is picked to win its 14-straight championship this season, receiving 10 of the 11 first-place votes and 100 points. Roanoke College is second with 87 points while Randolph-Macon College is third with 81 points and the final first-place vote. Bridgewater College and Randolph College are fourth (65 pts.) and fifth (64 pts.), respectively.

E&H (2-0), which also played in two invitational tournaments during the fall portion of the season, will open the spring on Saturday, February 20 when it hosts Averett University at 10:00 a.m. The Wasps defeated the Cougars, 7-2, on Sunday, October 11 to start the year.
