E&H Women's Tennis Earns Second Straight ODAC Win by Defeating Guilford, 7-2, Saturday Afternoon

Greensboro, N.C. - The Emory & Henry women's team (6-3, 3-1 ODAC) won their second straight ODAC match, 7-2, over Guilford College (4-5, 3-4 ODAC).  The total number of ODAC wins for the Wasps moves up to three on the year, while last year, they were only able to edge out one ODAC victory.

Sveva Mazzari (San Remo, ITALY) and Savanna Summers (Bluff City, Tn.) continue to prove they are one of the best doubles pairings in the ODAC.  The two are still undefeated as partners, now sitting 6-0 on the season.  Lauren Riner (Coeburn, Va.) and Kaitlyn Sheaves (Staunton, Va.) were not able to pick up a victory at two doubles, losing 8-5.  Katie Meade (Coeburn, Va.) and Ana-Belen Gomez (Irving, Texas) earned an 8-3 victory at three doubles.

Mazzari also continued her winning streak in singles play.  Mazzari defeated the Quakers number one 6-2, 6-0.  She is now 10-1 on the year in singles play.  Riner earned a 6-2, 6-2 victory at two singles.  Summers played in a hard fought match and won 6-4, 6-4 at three.  Gomez went down 6-0, 6-1 in her first match of the season.  Sheaves played into a third set got the win, 6-0, 5-7, 10-5.  Meade won at six singles, 8-2.

The Wasps look to continue their ODAC win streak on Sunday at Roanoke College.
