Emory & Henry’s Sveva Mazzari Earns Regional Rankings From The NCAA and ITA

SKILLMAN, N.J. – Emory & Henry College Women's Tennis freshman Sveva Mazzari has received an individual regional ranking from the NCAA on Thursday.  Mazzari, a native of San Remo, ITALY, is the Atlantic South Region's 12th-ranked player.  The Intercollegiate Tennis Association, ITA officials also announced Thursday evening that Mazzari is the 25th-ranked player in the most-recent rankings.

Mazzari is 16-1 overall this season with her lone loss coming in the ITA South Regional Second Round to Emory University's Bridget Harding. She holds a 15-0 record in dual matches including a 10-0 mark against Old Dominion Athletic Conference opponents. Mazzari finished the year as the only player in the league to post a 10-0 mark at the No. 1 singles spot.

In doubles play, Mazzari boasts a 12-3 record (8-2 ODAC) with her only losses coming to Washington and Lee University and Roanoke College. She has teamed up for 10 of her doubles wins with junior Savanna Summers (Bluff City, Tenn.)

Emory & Henry, the number five seed in the 2016 ODAC Tournament, will travel to face #4 Lynchburg College in the quarterfinals on Saturday at 2:00 p.m.
